Adding This Single Web Page Could Create More Leads For You

Before we buy, we do research.

This is not up for debate folks.  Most prospects won’t contact you to find out about your solution.

Instead, they will research you and your solution —- and mostly online.

If you are getting website traffic but no leads, it’s likely that prospects are not finding what they are looking for when they research you.  So they disappear without you knowing they were there.

One of the major questions prospects will want to answer before they contact you will be:

How much does this cost?

Prospects ARE searching for your pricing on your website.

It’s common for product businesses to put pricing information on the web  But very few service businesses put this information out there.

So, I ask you.

Do you have your prices on your website?  Why?  Why not?

Do you think having a PRICING or RATES page could generate more leads for you?

    • @Barbie — You aren’t alone. Most website visitors will be looking for pricing — precisely because of efficiency and the fact that they don’t want to speak to a high pressure sales person to compare prices.

  2. Hi Russ, this is a great question and something I’ve been considering lately. My site doesn’t include pricing because I like the flexibility of quoting different customers separately based on the scope and nature of the project. However, recently, I’ve been considering that this is likely leaving leads on the table since most people are very price sensitive. If there’s no price, then there isn’t anything for them to consider without talking to me personally, and that’s not a good thing. Why? Because a lot of people browse, become aware, and then take time to be interested. If they don’t know what they rates are up front, then it’s hard for the prospect of them doing business with you to grow over time and eventually to make the decision to pull the trigger. So on one hand, I see the benefit of leaving prices off, but on the other hand, I think that it leaves a lot of leads and potential sales on the table.

    • @Joseph — If it isn’t a question of giving over secrets to competitors, you might try including price ranges, price comparisons or case studies with pricing and ROI.

      I used to address price on my web design services by stating “I cost less than a downtown agency and more than your nephew.” :) I often received positive remarks on this statement.

  3. I’ve been involved in kitchen remodeling for a number of years. You can imagine the pricing variables in a kitchen remodel, and yet I believe it’s still good to provide some pricing info. In my case, having a factual example project with at least the approximate dollar amount of that project helps potential customers to consider me over someone that has beautiful pictures on their advertising but don’t provide any idea of costs.

  4. I took prices off of my site because each potential client’s situation is different so each client might get a different quote. Funny thing is that I always start from the of set price and then work my way down – depending on the prospects situation.
