Do You Seek And Embrace Marketing Messages? You Should.

hugIt is instinctual for us to “TIVO” through commercials, turn the radio down while the ads are running and just generally run in the other direction when we see or hear marketing messages.

But when you are a micro business owner looking to make might profits on a tiny budget — you must SEEK out other peoples marketing.  You must change your perspective and engage in other people’s marketing as a form of research.

Develop Your Plan

In my eBook, Tiny Business, Mighty Profits I teach the system that I use to market my business with just a few well-placed dollars.  The core of this model is using valuable content to gain the attention and eventually the trust of your target market.

When you are finished with the eBook you will have a plan.  You will have chosen the tactics you will use to broadcast your marketing message to your target market.

Seek The Best Of The Best

The eBook walks you through developing a plan by which to broadcast this valuable content to your target market.  If part of your plan is to use YouTube to broadcast your message to your target market — you need to find the foremost marketers using YouTube — the successful ones — and then consume every marketing message that they send out.

You will want to opt-in to every marketing message possible.  For example:

  • Subscribe to their email newsletter
  • Subscribe to their YouTube channel
  • Follow them on Twitter
  • Friend them on Facebook
  • Comment on their blog posts
  • Mention them on your own blog
  • Subscribe to their podcast
  • Read their free reports and eBooks

In other words… don’t do what is instinctual to you — which is run away from their barrage of marketing tactics.

Instead… run straight into the teeth of it.

Now… sit back and watch how they do it.  Study every move.   Watch the progression of the marketing tactics they use when they launch products and services.  Look for what they do well and what (if anything) they do poorly.

Copy the things they do well into your own marketing plan and avoid what they do poorly.

You will need to retrain your mind to become a seeker of marketing messages — and in the end you will learn that embracing the marketing messages of others is the best way to learn how to market your own micro business.

What a great perspective. There probably won’t be much competition here, as a culture we are being trained to do the oposite. Thanks!

It definitely takes a lot of conscious thought to break the habit of running from marketing messages… it is a big help if you are fascinated by marketing… which (fortunately) I am.
