WordPress is awesome and the number one reason is because of the number of plug-ins you can slap onto your blog. It is soooo easy!
However, this can be a problem as well. It is so simple to install plug-ins on your blog that many people can’t stop.
Have you ever seen someones blog that has gone plug-in crazy?
It detracts from the content on the blog and is a big turn-off for me and I would suspect for many others.
Firstly, decide what you are trying to do by installing the plug-in. Are you trying to increase commenting, get people to re-tweet or otherwise interact with your site? These are all great reasons to add plug-ins to your site.
Select one goal at a time and address it by finding the best plug-in from both a utilitarian standpoint and a design standpoint.
After you have addressed that issue, move on to something else.
Be careful of going plug-in crazy, it can make your website look like a traffic jam and ultimately drive people away from your website.
