<p>If your tiny business is aimed at getting local customers &#8211; you will need to let Google (and the others) know that.</p>
<p>How do you let Google know that you are a local business? You start by building a <a href="https://www.google.com/local/add/login">Local Business Center here</a> &#8212; think Yellow Pages except free.   Then build a local listing on Yahoo and Bing <a href=" http://searchmarketing.yahoo.com/local/business.php">here</a> and <a href="https://ssl.bing.com/listings/ListingCenter.aspx">here</a>.</p>
<p>After that, as time (and in some cases money) allows, build profiles in all of the following places:</p>
<p>Build Local Profiles On:<a href="http://local.botw.org/"></a></p>
<p>Best Of The Web &#8211; Local &#8211; <a href="http://local.botw.org/">http://local.botw.org/</a><a href="https://selfenroll.citysearch.com/"><br />
</a>Superpages &#8211; <a href="https://selfenroll.citysearch.com/">https://my.superpages.com/spweb/products/business-listing<br />
</a>City Search &#8211; <a href="https://selfenroll.citysearch.com/">https://selfenroll.citysearch.com/</a><a href="http://dbupdate.infousa.com/dbupdate/startupdate"><br />
</a>Info USA &#8211; <a href="http://dbupdate.infousa.com/dbupdate/startupdate">http://dbupdate.infousa.com/dbupdate/startupdate</a><br />
Yellow Pages &#8211; <a href="http://www.yellowpages.com/sp/advertise/">http://www.yellowpages.com/sp/advertise/</a><br />
Insider Pages &#8211; <a href="http://www.insiderpages.com/advertiser/find_business">http://www.insiderpages.com/advertiser/find_business</a><br />
Localeze &#8211; <a href="http://webapp.localeze.com/bizreg/add.aspx">http://webapp.localeze.com/bizreg/add.aspx</a><br />
Yelp &#8211; <a href="http://www.yelp.com/ ">http://www.yelp.com/ </a><a href="http://www.alikelist.com/registration?"><br />
</a>AlikeList &#8211; <a href="http://www.alikelist.com/registration?">http://www.alikelist.com/registration?</a></p>
<p>Building these profiles will assist in getting better search engine rankings for terms that have a geographic target affixed to them such as:</p>
<p>&#8216;accountant dallas tx&#8217;</p>
<p>OR</p>
<p>&#8216;art studio 63129&#8242;</p>
