Generally I like to highlight viral video that is used by a business to get a marketing message out.
In this case, United Airlines is feeling the full brunt of what can happen when you wrong someone that has these four things:
1. A lot of energy
2. A digital camcorder
3. A YouTube Account
4. A Good Sense Of Humor
This video has gone viral (over 1.1 million views) and is doing thousands of times more damage to the United Airlines brand than the cost of a guitar.

And then it got worse for United Airlines …. CNN picked up the story.
So… looks like United Airlines got burned and now they will make it right. Let this be a lesson that each individual customer service fiasco could turn into a huge problem for your brand.
I just wish I could have been a fly on the wall at the emergency meeting of all the United Airline executives when they viewed this video and assessed the damage it was doing to their image.
