[Video] Spy On… um I mean… Listen To Your Target Market

by Russ Henneberry

Don’t do the following!

  • listeningDon’t spend time and money building something that no one wants.
  • Don’t spend time writing content that no one wants to read.
  • Don’t shoot video that no one wants to watch.
  • Don’t try to sell services that no one needs.

LISTEN TO YOUR TARGET MARKET!

Here is the danger… unfortunately very few people will tell you when you are creating something they don’t need.

In fact, it is much worse.  If you have already written an article or built a service or created a product — people will generally tell you that they DO need it.  They won’t want to hurt your feelings.

However, they WILL NOT buy something they don’t need from you.  They will not read your article and they won’t sign up for your service.

They don’t feel that bad for you.

So — What To Do?

LISTEN TO YOUR TARGET MARKET

Listen to their needs, their problems — ask them what they want.  Now deliver.

Watch this video that shows you exactly how to find and listen to your target market BEFORE you build something they don’t want.

Good information. I am retired and attempting to market e-books I am writing. Looking forward to putting the information to work.

Hi Russ,

Thanks for the tip on Meetup.com – I am seeing several groups to network with.

I’m on my way back to finish reading your e-book.

Cheers!

@Tammi — Great Tammi — meetup.com is absolutely awesome! I would encourage you (if you see the application to your biz) to start a meet-up of your own. It will help to establish you as an expert in your community.
